Dec14- Jan4‏

Hola mi familia!!

Wow! There is a lot that happened since I last wrote you.

First, it was so good to talk to all of you to hear your voices! That is why I just started crying when I heard your voices and felt your love. I’m glad that you’re all good and are excited to have me home.

The next day I woke up with a bad ear ache and I vomited up lunch and I didn’t feel good. I spent the next 4 days in bed. My Zone leaders came and gave me a blessing of health twice and they even passed by the pharmacy to pick up ear drops. They are the best leaders calling me every day to see how I was and even teaching a couple of members and investigators in our sector. I love them. They are like my brothers and I respect them as Elders. My companion was my nurse and put up with me when I was crying worried that I was going deaf. It was a nasty process. She put drops in my ear every 4 hours. Sister Lovell also suggested that I put olive oil in my ear so I did. I went to the Doctor Tuesday and I couldn’t hear that much still because yellow puss was leaving my ear. He said that my ear drum was broken but that it would repair on its own. He said that everything was going to be ok and that I just had to take a pill to make sure it wouldn’t get infected. I vomited a total of 4 times and I had a high temperature. I still have a little pain in my ears but that is just because I don’t like to take lots of pills. It’s a good thing I have companions because I’m good at taking care of others but I’m bad at taking medicine. The doctor said that it isn’t good to travel but I told him that the Lord was sending me on a special mission the next day that could be delayed.

Guess what ….I’M ON AN ISLAND!!! This is the first time I have lived on an Island. The Island is called Chiloé! It is So BEAUTIFUL!! The trip was long but I was so happy to talk to my good friend Elder Merrill who has been my zone leader in Punta Arenas and Villarrica for 7and ½ months. He is from California and will be going home the next change and be getting to his girlfriend that is a recent convert. He has really helped me become the missionary that I am today. I’m so thankful for good leaders! Then my next travel buddy was my beautiful new companion from PANAMA!!! Her name is Hermana Peréz!!!! She is really fun and I have a great big SURPRIZE for all of you….she colored my hair RED!!!! So what do you think of that you now have a Ireland Red Head in the family!?!? She is a fashion girl and wanted to change my look. I decided that I had let my fashion go way down for the last year so I decided that I would let her fix me up. Haha I always seem to do stuff with my hair because that is the only identity I can have on the mission. She is so great and loves to talk a lot. She is very loving and helped me feel good lying on her shoulder on the boat ride to the island when I felt dizzy she made all the pain go away.

I hope all of you have a great new year with set goals so that you can have a successful year personally, spiritually, physically, in work or studies. I’m going to work harder than ever before. We are going to be obedient and reach the standards of the mission with good powerful lessons and the Savior will bless us with baptisms I know.

I love you all!! Have a great week!

Hermana Wade
